Peter
Brown
Peter initially started training in Sil Lum Pai Kung
Fu during in 1973 and achieved the rank of Red Sash Instructor.
In 1978 Peter began training in kickboxing and full contact Karate
and achieved the rank of 2nd Dan.
During this period he also studied other arts including Wing Chun
and Hung gar Kung Fu.
Between 1977 and 1980 Peter studied Kenjutsu, Shorinji Kempo and
Ju Jutsu under Sensei Takenori Toh.
In 1981 he joined the Shadows of Iga and in 1982 commenced his
study of Ninjutsu under Sensei Bo Munthe from Sweden, later joining
the Bujinkan Ishizuka Dojo. During this period Peter regularly travelled
to Sweden to further his study of Ninjutsu.
The first genuine UK Ninjutsu seminar was held under the tuition
of Sensei Bo Munthe and Peter was instrumental in organising this
event.
In addition Peter helped set up the EBNS (European Bujinkan Ninjutsu
Society)
1986 saw Peter being awarded his Shodan (first Dan) in Bujinkan
Ninjutsu. His second Dan was awarded in 1987 and he remains one
of the first instructors in the country to have jumped from 2nd
Dan to 4th Dan.
October 1987 heralded the arrival of Shoto Tanemura to the UK and
Peter was honoured to be one of the few Bujinkan students accepted
at the seminar, which led to his joining the Genbukan in 1988.
The Shinobi Kai Ninpo Bugei Dojo was opened in 1991 making it one
of the first full time Ninjutsu Dojo in the country.
Throughout the 1980’s peter also studied various Police and
Security subjects, including Baton, Control and Restraint, Close
Protection etc, also becoming an accredited pistol, shotgun and
firearms coach.
Peter’s own company ESP Protective Services was formed in
1992 and provides training to commercial companies and organisations,
as well as civilian groups.
Peter continues this business today with several international
businesses retaining him as a trainer and consultant.
From 1999 to 2002 Peter was the chief instructor to the Bodyguards
Guild International.
